Answers to common questions

Who actually does the pest work if I use Improvinginterview Pest Control?
An independent local provider does the work. Improvinginterview Pest Control is a referral service, so we do not treat homes, set traps or remove animals. Referral, not repair. We pass your request to a provider in our network, and that provider speaks with you, inspects the problem, gives you a written quote and carries out the job. Ask the provider any question about methods or products.
How do I choose a good exterminator near me?
Look for a provider who inspects first and explains what they found. Do ask whether they are licensed in Ohio, whether they carry insurance, and which products or methods they plan to use. Do get the quote in writing. Do not agree to a plan over the phone with no inspection. Do not feel pushed by pressure or scare talk. A calm provider will answer every question plainly and let you decide.
Can I handle ants, roaches or mice myself?
Sometimes, for a small problem. A few ants in the kitchen can often be handled with cleaning, sealing food and basic baits. Do read every label and keep products away from children and pets. Do not mix chemicals or spray indoors without ventilation. If pests keep returning, or you see signs of a nest, call a provider. Repeated DIY sprays can scatter some insects and make them harder to treat.
When is DIY a bad idea?
Skip DIY for termites, bed bugs, rats, and any animal living in your attic, walls or crawl space. These problems hide inside the structure, and store products rarely reach them. Do not seal an entry hole if an animal may still be inside, because it can be trapped and cause damage. Do not handle bats, raccoons or wild animals with bare hands. A provider can inspect safely.
Will my homeowners insurance cover pest damage?
It depends on your policy. Many policies exclude slow damage from termites, rodents or insects, while some may cover sudden damage from a related event. Check your policy or ask your insurer directly. Providers can often help document damage with notes and photos for a claim. Improvinginterview Pest Control cannot say what your policy covers, and a referral does not change your coverage.
What should I do in the first hour after finding pests?
Stay calm and keep your household safe first. Do move children and pets away from the area. Do take clear photos and note where you saw activity. Do not spray strong chemicals in a panic or poke at a nest. Do not throw away droppings or damaged items yet, as a provider may want to see them. Then send a request for an estimate.
How much does pest or wildlife removal cost?
Costs vary by pest, home size and how serious the problem is. In the U.S., a basic one-time pest visit often runs from about $100 to $300. Termite treatment and wildlife removal can cost much more. Treat any number as a rough range only. Ask each provider for a written quote that lists what is included, so you can compare options without guessing.
Does requesting an estimate commit me to anything?
No. Sending a request carries no obligation. You can read what the provider says, ask questions, compare a quote with others, and say no. Improvinginterview Pest Control does not charge you for the referral and does not sign you up for any service. Any agreement for work is between you and the provider.
